I searched and again......."No Results Found"

Does anyone know of any publically available Dallas/Fort Worth area Metroplex and cost if available?

I am planning on the LMS Stage 1 tune and trying to get a pre tune baseline reading. LMS reports roughly 270-290 range for HP but trying to get vehicle specific.

Anything to watch out for on DYNOS? I know basically open hood, chain down and press throttle. I am sure there is a risk of the engine going past the limit or will the rev limiter and governor kick in before damage occurs?

Does the DYNO tech run the vehicle or does the owner and the tech supervise?

Need to get a Dyno where front and rear rollers can be linked. The AWD system on these cars does not like independent rollers, so just because they claim 4WD/Subaru compatibility does not mean it is suitable for your SHO.

Strike 1 for DYNO. Asked all the right questions and set up appointment for today. Arrived about 1+15 early all set. Strike #1 DYNO Computer FAIL.

Strike #2: Owner showed up and started just rattling off times as in hours for each individual components of Tune seriously 4 hours for Spark Plugs.....?

Strike #3: Owner seemed more concerned with vendor that showed up AFTER me.....maybe appointment maybe not but not even so much as a I apologize and will be back in a few minutes, I left dejected and came home to start search again.

Called another shop on the east side of Dallas and specifically mentioned the AWD and linked rollers. Set up appointment for Wednesday at $100 per session (3 pulls each) one session pre tune and one post tune.

I will advise results when complete.

Finally got the DYNO done today. Courtesy of COBB Tuning Plano, TX They have a couple of other locations, SOCAL and Portland, OR to start with. I will save all the boring set up details but here is what I got today. Remember this is a PRE TUNE DYNO so I will report follow up with POST TUNE results. $99 for three pulls. 1 warm up/calibration 1 baseline and the third.....(Wildcard/Tie Breaker)

As you can see the readings although below factory flywheel readings appear to be steady and close among all three runs. I am not sure how much to factor in but I will attribute some of the loss to the 87 Octane. I will run 93 for the Post tune run.

OEM SPECS for reference 365HP/5500 RPM 350Lb. Ft./3500RPM

Test Conditions 59F vehicle empty with DYNO TECH sole occupant. approximately 3/4 tank of 87 Octane unleaded.

TORQUE/RPM HP/RPM
Run 1: 313/1650 264/5000
Run 2: 309/2000 270/5000
Run 3: 312/2200 266/5000

Those are corrected numbers or std? Looks like 15% or so drivetrain loss. Pricing seems reasonable and you got 3 pulls. Can't wait to see post tune numbers because I'm thinking they will be pretty good.

The numbers are corrected as in there is a magnet in the DYNO that essentially provides a artificial feel of road and wind resistance. I will attribute the low torque to the 87 octane, yes low but I am impressed as in the torque and HP curve was steady among all three runs. Again 93 Octane for Post Tune DYNO

If anyone in the DFW Metroplex is looking for DYNO this seems to be the place. They specialize in Subaru, Mazda I say Subaru because of the linked dual rollers for the AWD. They also work with Focus, Fiesta, and the new Mustang 2.3 E/B so they seem to know their way around the E/B Technology even if I was apparently the first Taurus E/B participant. Professional and courteous staff and professional looking area. Shop is in an industrial park area but still professional layout, not the run together hole in the wall like the other place in Arlington. I would recommend them ask for Neil.

STD vs SAE is a little different than that. Dyno numbers when std does not take temp.,humidity or barometer into account. SAE does. That way the weather conditions where you dyno should not skew the end results and make it even so no matter where you dyno (Colorado vs Florida) the numbers are standardized.

BTW, do you know which Dyno this was? Mustang, Dynojet, ...? Sorry if you posted that info already.
