Excited about getting my car on the dyno this week and seeing what all of my GH and other upgrades will yield. I'm on gas as there isn't e85 available and I don't think there are any further bolt-on upgrades available to add more power to this daily.

Are there any tips or things I should be asking for or doing from the shop thats doing it? I get 3 pulls.

Proceed to try and let it cool down as soon as you get there. I'd probably arrive a little before my appointment and let it sit with the hood open for a little while. IAT2 is killer from sitting. Fans can only do so much in so much given time. Have them run the car at speed so air can move through the intake before doing a full pull also. All about temp management to get realistic non heat soaked numbers and have fun with it! Get some recordings!

Gosh I totally forgot about the heat soaking and the dyno is 2 hours away. Ill get there and let it sit for an hour and have them run it for a while. Thank you for the help!

I'm a total noob about transmissions and dyno pulls, but Iread 5th gear is our 1:1 gear, why would you want to be in 4th?

Because 5th is 1:1 you are literally going to be loading the car over a longer period of time. Think long loads, long pulls, times numerous runs. Most tuners ask for a 4th gear pull to also limit wheel speed.

All my pulls have been fourth. It goes to almost 130mph which is not even close to crazy on a dyno.

Yeah, what they said. Although 5th would be ideal, the speeds at which the vehicle would be going can become dangerous on a stationary machine like a dyno. If there was a mishap/failure with the dyno, the straps holding the car in place would give way pretty easily at those speeds...and you can imagine what would happen. The numbers you get from whatever speed/gear its run in can, very loosely (not completely accurately), be calculated.

I'd make sure you have good tires if you decide to push 130mph on the dyno. A blowout.....well bring a gopro just in case lol

Wish I could find it, but saw a security cam video footage of a guy watchin his car get dyno'd then get killed when the engine blew and something hit him in the neck...im guessing a rod or piston. Was pretty disturbing to watch....

I think it was the turbo internals or something. Savage way to go.
