Did 7 Pulls today @ Gulf Coast Motorsports. Their dyno is a Dynojet 424xLC Linx, which I believe is the same model that is at Livernois. Justin Daniels who did the runs said it is one of about 15 in the world like it. It was a beautiful morning. Temp ranged from 74.5 to 77.2 Deg. F. HG 29.50-29.52 Humidity 40% to 42% Runs were completed between 9:48 & 10:49 AM.
Here are the Max Power & Max Torque numbers.
----------------------Max Power---- Max Torque
Pull #1 Torrie Tune #116 354.93+++++ 402.22
Pull #2 Torrie Tune #114 366.33+++++ 409.44
Pull #3 Torrie Tune #115 369.44+++++ 406.59
Pull #4 Torrie Tune #113 354.54+++++ 391.12
Pull #5 Shifted down - deleted
Pull #6 Torrie Stock Tune (3 bar sensor) Deleted as we accidentally left W/M on... Interestingly we lost quite a bit of power and torque. As I remember Max Power was around 273 and Max torque was around 300.
Pull #7 Torrie Stock Tune 294.46+++++ 332.86 Note: this tune is the same as the above ones & uses a 3 bar sensor, but has stock A/F & Boost values in the tune. A/F was a straight line & max boost was 13.10 for this tune.

Assuming that my AWD system wastes 20% of the engine power & Torque, My Max Power would be around 460 & Max Torque 510.

Dyno sheets to follow later.

Not too shabby for e-mail tuning!!!!

THANKS!!!!!! TORRIE @ UNLEASHED TUNING :thankyou::swing::woo-hoo::woo-hoo:

I'm trying to decide between Torrie's tunes and Livernois. Any suggestions? What's the deal with the 3 bar sensor and such? Who makes the most power?

It was USPS tuning back in the day... :) Great numbers. 510 is a nice number. Who would have thought? 500Lbs to TQ in a sedan....... :D

20% is pretty optimistic IMO. I would say the automatic 6 speed, PTU and AWD uses at least 25%, but still very impressive numbers :thumb:

Both Tuners (tune packages) are excellent and will provide you with big smiles. They are similar in how they are installed, and in basic performance. Both give great service.

I purchased Torries tune package & SCT Tuner because it was on the market first. Later, I bought the Livernois Tunes for comparison. Torrie has worked with me countless times and is always updating my tunes for the add-ons I have purchased from him. A 3 Bar MAPV sensor, ($110.) requires a W/M (water-methanol) spray system and special mods to all tunes to adapt them to that sensor. While it only takes about a minute to change between 2 bar & 3 bar sensor, you have to install a proper tune... another 5 minutes of programming ECM.

Livernois also has a new tuning platform that has a screen that displays some of the relevant info for your viewing... about twice as expensive as basic SCT tuner. Also SCT has a wireless setup, a OBDII transmitter plugged into your OBDII port. For more info on any of this you need to contact Unleashed Tuning, or Livernois directly.

I also understand the HP Tuners is now getting into Ford Tuning... but know nothing else.

I'm making very similar numbers with the stock 2 BAR sensor... nice thing about keeping the 2 BAR is I can put the stock tune back in without any issues... If you do want to go to a 3 BAR sensor, Ford does make one...

You're close... but remember ALL my tuning has been done by e-mail, and not on the Livernois Dyno.

Was told by the dyno operator, that I am running very rich up to about 4,000 RPM. He said that if I was running a similar A/F at the low end compared to the high end RPM, that my numbers would have been pushed up somewhat higher.

As for the 3 bar sensor, my boost in the 3,000 to 6,000 range is above 15. On the best run, it peaked at 5,000. How much the higher boost helps, is anyone's guess, but I do have 3 runs in the 12's to date. Two were when it was in the mid-70's and rather humid.

Dynos only get you so close... You really dial things in on the street or at the track... So not having access to a dyno is not a big deal, especially since the cars a widebands.

Wouldn't it be nice to have HP Tuners where we could change the A/F ratios based on our track logging for later runs that day... Maybe someday...... That's what the guy with the blue Vette was doing. (The guy in the video after my Corvette Fail run... who turned a 10.9 @ like 123.) His dyno tune and all the engine porting was done by Jeremy Formato who is a LS engine and tuning specialist.

I suppose you could buy SCT Advantage III software and do your own tuning...

Here are a few graphs of my Dyno Pulls.

First.... Stock A/F & Boost (3 Bar sensor version)

Moser6

This is the same stock tune but with W/M spraying. Note how much the spray hurts the numbers when it isn't tuned for W/M.

Moser5

Torrie's printout of the two best runs, overlapping.

1

The best run overall... with the highest performance. Note how everything peaks in the 5,000 RPM range.

Moser3

I will post the actual paper printout I received from Gulf Coast Motorworks, with a boost graph sometime tomorrow. Usable boost peaked at 17.72 on this run.

Here is the paper printout of the 115 Torrie Tune.

Note the Power Scale is 0-400 and the Torque Scale is 0-500. The peak boost of over 22 occurred when the blow off valve opened when the Dyno Pull ended.

Hey, nice numbers! I'm an old Gen1 SHO enthusiast from the late 90's who long ago migrated to the realm of turbo Mitsubishis. Knowing nothing about the new SHO other than turbo/awd I have to ask - why do all your dyno pulls start off with a rapid spike in power and torque around 3k RPM? Is it the automatic transmission, boost spike, or what?
Are the SHO turbos variable geometry, HTA or anything fancy like that?

I haven't ridden or driven a new SHO, but coming back to this forum makes me want to put on my sunday best and head over to the dealership for a test drive!

It's because they lock the vehicle into 4th for the dyno runs... Truthfully, real time results on the road would be different. Max would be similar, but Flex or any other vehicle that has more than one gear, will be in the 4,000 to 6,500 range in all gears, hence the curves will be higher and more flat. Dyno runs are in 4th.. I end my 1/4 mi runs in 4th also.

Turbos boost is based on the sensor, the blow off setting and the rpms. I was running a 3 bar sensor that allows boost readings over 15 psi. Also the valve timing in the EB Flex & SHO is not variable, like the EB 150, which has larger turbos and piping. Consequently it produces over 400 lbs torque as stock vs. the 350 that SHO & Flex produce with smaller turbos.

Hope this helps
