Has anyone done the change ??????
I have the Radiator Installed.... BUT
1) I had to move the drier and lines
2) Change the fan location to the left 1/2 inch
3) add a clip fastener to the new radiator to hold the right side top of the fan housing.
Still working out the bottom right side ( as far as mounting the fan housing )
After the install of the dual core unit theres no room for the over flow bottle... If you have done this mod.. Where did ya put the over flow bottle ..??..??

When people do this mod, they take the overflow bottle and battery setup from an ATX car. Then you have room.

You shouldn't have to change anything unless your overflow is too big. I think one of the upper mounts did not line up but it can be modified. The stock overflow fit on my MTX plus no problem. If you can't fit the overflow to fit get a cheapo one from summit/pep boys/CSK/Advance/Autozone/Southern (carquest) shouldn't be more than $30.

Would anyone have a ATX pic to post so I can see the locations.

I'm not sure.... I got the unit from SHOsource, I think they just started selling the unit. So maybe the ones done in the past where done with something esle????
Its a nice one end caps look be the same as the single core ( there's just no off set due to it being a dual core )
OOHH that does bring something esle to mind .... What are the two holes in the left side end cap of the Radiator???? oil/atf cooler ???? They were on my stock unit as well but not being used..
Anyway thanks for the help guys

The only thing I had to do was drill two new holes for the overflow bottle bracket. Seems like I also had to trim the fan shroud a little to clear the drain plug. Otherwise it fit just fine.

I changed the overflow bottle to the atx style with no problems, i also put the battery in the trunk. Gave me a lot of room. I've had my dual core rediator for 4 yrs. It started to crap out on the way to Seattle. I will be purchasing a new one soon. I saw it listed somewhere for 129.00.

ya got mine from SHOsoure here on the forum.... I think it was 149 or 159.... But a good deal for a dual core that you can make work. plus they shipped very fast... Very happy with price and the shipping. I hope the Y pipe I'm ordering from them will be the same way....

Ok I'll start looking around for a ATX over flow bottle.
Thanks for the input guys

I've had one in for years... It was a quick easy swap. My 3.0L reservior fit and all we had to do was drill two new holes for mounting the reservior

Does GEN 1 3.0 SHO have a smaller radiator clearance compared to GEN 2 3.0 SHO? If so, this would make the 3.0 reservoir fit without any problem on 2nd Gen.

I know I am bringing this thread back from the dead. I have a dual-core radiator and want to put my stock overflow bottle back in so I have some room to run some piping. I understand the need to drill two new holes, but what about the notch at the bottom for the overflow bottle. The radiator covers it up.

My 3.2L MTX gets stupid hot on the track, oil temps well north of 240ºF. With the all aluminum radiator, the coolant will hit 225ºF to 230ºF at the end of a session.

I have a dual core in mine. I'm using the MTX bottle and I did not modify anything. It was a tight fit but it worked.

if you bend the bottom of the overflow bottle slightly towards the rad support you can usually just jam it in there and then tighten the top and yes the stock mtx overflow fits np!
