The Drivers side window switches for the front windows are automatic.

How can I make them Auto for the backs as well?
I cannot believe they did not do this. Any Ideas? Is it possible?
Even thou I call the dealer and they have no Idea how to do that, That doesn't mean it cannot be done.

My wife's E350 Benz has it and we just love having all the windows be Auto.

I wish they were all auto and had a quarter/half down feature. That would be "beast" (my 10 year old's new "cool" word).

Per the wiring diagrams, the auto feature appears to be controlled by logic withing the front power window motors. The switches are also equipped with an extra pair of poles for the auto feature.

That being said, there was some discussion back when I had a Gen 2 SHO about adding the auto feature to the passenger window as well as the sunroof. My recall is back then there was an "Auto down" box that was wired in between the switch and the window motor from the factory for the driver's window. The "Auto" switch was different too because it had a detent to activate the auto feature if I recall correctly, but it would still be an easier retrofit for the rear windows than trying to implement today's approach I suspect. You might search the Gen 2 forum for information on that box. I remember drawing up a schematic for a guy on how to install one of the boxes for his sunroof, I may still have that drawing around.... I don't think I had a part number for the box though since he already had a spare box. I'm also not sure it was for this SHO forum.

Yes Having the moon roof act like this as well would be great. Come on Ford, so close yet not there.

The back's don't do it from the factory for safety reasons.

It would be a nice option on the sunroof, for sure.

My 04 G35 Sedan had all windows auto up/down and the sunroof was auto open/close. I do miss that feature on the SHO though.

I haven't tried this on my SHO yet, but this week I noticed that if I press the sunroof slide button on my Aviator twice it auto opens. There's no "Auto" indication on the button on roof console and no second detent. Found it by accident. I plan to try the same on my SHO. My wife's 2010 MKZ sunroof is labelled as "Auto" and has a second detent if I remember correctly. It may not be too difficult to adopt an MKZ auto open feature to the SHO as well, or maybe someone with an MKS could see if they have the auto feature.

I just tried the sunroof on my 2011. The only direction that does NOT have auto with a single press is closing the roof from the up/vent position. It opens up/to vent automatically, slides open automatically, and closes automatically, all with a single press of the button.

And my 2010 as well. My 05 G35X had auto windows all around. Nice feature but not even close to a deal breaker for me. MKS has that feature, I believe, but for $15K more I could live without.
