I'm having a little problem with my driver window controls. All the buttons work except for one. This problem just started maybe a month ago. The right rear window button only works for lowering the window. If you try to put the window up with that button it doesn't work.

I took the controls apart and everything seems to be ok, but that obviously doesn't make sense. When putting the window down I get voltage across the button, but when trying to put the window up I only get like .2V
The resistance across the button and from the power lead to the up and down wires of the button have exactly the same resistance of all the other buttons.

I'm assuming just the switch is bad, because I can't see the wiring just going bad but who knows. And I really didn't see a way to get to the switch contacts to clean them.

Any ideas on what's wrong? Or seconding the opinion of it being just a bad switch? Thanks for any ideas.

The driver master switch can be CAREFULLY taken apart to clean the deposits, from arcing, off of the contact points. This will usually allow full contact again, but it is usually a short term fix.

You can apply battery voltage to the motor wires to test the circuits. If the motor works for both "up" and "down" then the problem lies in the switch. A replacement switch is about $35 at a dealership. rangerj

I took apart the whole controls. Which part can you put battery on to test the up and down feature of each window? I tried putting battery on the (what looked like the up and down wires) and I just got a little pop which reset the radio and seemed like it was going to blow a fuse.

If the back switch on the door panel works as it should up and down, doesnt the drivers master control HAVE to be broken? Eric, lemme know and sometime soon I'l swing by with a spare, and we'l check it out... :)

Yeah the right rear control operates the window fine. So I kinda was assuming it was the driver control...
