I have the JBL system in my 93 SHO which most of the time sounds great. I have to figure out how the mechanism on the driver door comes apart so I can repair a broken wire. The sound cuts out when I open the door, but comes on when I move the housing protecting the wires. I see the top is held on with 3 clips and there is a bolt in the top as well.

On a side note, I didn't know there was a stock sub in these cars. Do all of them have one and where would I look for mine. All the cleaning and stuff I've done I never ran across it.

No takers huh? lol of course it is the weekend and it seems the forum isn't as busy during the weekend. So does that mean everyone checks it out for stuff to do at work? :type:

:woo-hoo: It's a 1 person thread lol

I searched around and didn't find exactly what I was looking for but found that the wires to the driver door is actually a plug. That makes it easy for me. I think the contacts are getting dirty since the speaker cuts in and out and doesn't work at all when the door is open. Would lead me to think bad ground.

Going to look to see if I can find where the sub is supposed to be and see if it's actually there. I could always trace the wires from the amp :naughty:

your sub will be mounted up under the parcel tray in the rear of the car. it will be visible from the trunk. you will also have two amps mounted to the rear of the back seat if your car has the sub. on your other question i do not know the answer.

Ahh gotcha. I have just the 1 amp and then another small box on the left side. I'll have to keep a look out for the sub and amp assembly at the salvage yard and hopefully it's an easy integration.

so far stripper model =
non leather seats
no moonroof
no sub (but has the jbl sound system)
no factory cd player
