hmm. the odds of us having the exact same issue (broken ac bracket) seem pretty low. however, if it is determined to be a fault in the front mount area, even in my bracket is intact i would be able to assume that the mount is at fault. Its a good vantage point im in i suppose... :p

I presume they are the stock mounts. The car has likely gotten no maintenance in its lifetime....unfortunately...i am making up for all of that neglect now in repairs. I started with the engine, now i am moving to the drivetrain, then the brakes, then suspension, then...finally...some performance mods. Long and frustrating process, but i somehow think its probably going to keep getting harder and harder to find gen 1s in decent condition on the market...so i am gonna give this one some attention.

Not to mention, it's a plus which is even more rare. I bought my car in 2001 for $3000 dollars cash, since then I've probably spent about $6000 in repairs with myself doing most of the work, and the couple of "mods" that I've done. I learned the hard way that this is an expensive car, and so did my parents because they've helped me out several times with repairs. I've replaced most everything that is likely to break, other than the tranny and engine, and now I'm just starting to get some performance stuff on it. Consider CheckerSHO lucky, he got his car with all the mods already on it. He's just got to do some maintainence on it now. All mine came with was a K & N and a bunch of repair costs. I think mine was driven like crap when I bought it.

You might need to replace those mounts pretty soon. They seem to make other things fall apart when they get destroyed. If you have time, get some from Kirk, otherwise Shonut's are top notch too. $145 front, $135 I think for the rear.

PS, I just noticed that you bought your car on my birthday. What a coincidence.

Later.

yup, sounds like mine

last summer I seemed to have a problem exactly like this one. Whenever I would push it to accelerate, especially under lower RPMs, the car would **** randomly while I was accelerating. I took the car in to a ship and the cleaned my fuel line, changed my spark plugs, replaced the fuel pump, and replaced the spark plug wires. I believe it was the new plug wires that finally fixed it, but the point is the jerking completely disappeared. Hope you figure it out soon

Well, I'm glad that it solved your problem, but I already have all new plug wires, plugs, and fuel pump. Now I didn't have my fuel line cleaned, but I use injector cleaner pretty often, so I can't say that any of that would help me. Thanks again though,

Paul
