Has anyone had experience in putting in the handle unlock ability? I find swiping my finger down the keypad or digging out the keyfob quite annoying... the keypad is an issue because it's winter out and I have to take off my gloves to do this.

I was just thinking this shouldn't be too dificult to do and wondered if anyone's ever done it.... my car is a 2010 for a point of reference.

Also, has anybody tried the tactile gloves you get for touchscreen devices for this very duty in winter time?

that is correct...the swipe is only on the drivers side door so my wife can't unlock as well as the swipe doesn't work for me with gloves on... my maxima just had buttons on the 2 front doors and if you were in range of the prox sensor with the key fob, it would unlock the doors

Ok I follow. M'lady's '14 CX-9 has little buttons on the front door handles that do the same thing as the Maxima you described. No idea if it's a practical conversion... good luck!

On my '14, you touch the inside of the door handle (front doors) to unlock, and the square on the outside of the door handle (also front doors) to lock. This works for me with or without gloves.

There is a setting in menu that you choose whether you would like the unlock action to unlock ALL doors or just DRIVER's door.

Hope this helps....

Hah! Another SHO+CX-9 family. We're silver SHO, white CX-9. Our CX-9 is a 2010, and it's been just great the whole time - only problem we had was leaves clogging the box that a/c condensation drains from, and every time my wife turned left, water would pour out of the glove box into the passenger stairwell. Easy fix. Got the title in the mail a week ago - paid off with only 43k miles. Sorry for the thread hijack!

We also have a CX-9 in our past - We leased a 2008 Grand Touring model (White on Black)! In 2011, we turned it back in with about 40k on it as we didn't need 3 rows of seats any longer. To date one of my favorite vehicles. LOVED the way it handled and it was very trouble free for us. A Mazda home run IMHO.

Sorry for the 2nd thread hijack! ;-)

To go for the Trifecta of Thread Hijack, the Mrs. had a 2010 CX-7 (turbo, lots of options but no nav) and loved it dearly. We decided we wanted a pop-up camper, neither of our cars had much tow capacity so we figured, since my car was paid for we'd trade hers in and keep pretty much the same car payments. Was only some months later when I decided my '99 Acura 3.5 RL was just getting too long in the tooth and my repair costs were close to a car payment. It makes a decent tow vehicle for a reasonable load (not a full-size camper by any means) but I would love to upgrade the rear suspension with something adjustable that could handle the tongue weight better.

Both the CX-7 and CX-9 seem to be excellent crossover SUVs (the CX-9 is pretty much loaded), but I think she's a little bit jealous of the SHO :) Especially the heated/cooled/massaging seats, LOL!
