if i buy the eibach springs, do i also have to replace the struts?.....and why are konis so expensive?.....is there any way to drop the SHO more than a 1 , 1/2 drop.....can you even tell the difference?

If you lower the car at all, you will need to replace the struts. The stock ones are not designed to dampen the higher spring rates of aftermarket springs.

Intrax makes springs for the SHO that lower it quite a bit (about 2" in front and 1.5" rear I believe).

The Konis are expensive because the SHO application is a fairly low volume one and the Konis are an adjustable damper as well. The Tokicos are non-adjustable and only a few bucks less each.

If you replace your springs with hi perf. springs, and leave your struts stock will you have one bouncy sho. Are you lookin to replace your worn out suspension, or are you looking to upgrade?

Their are cheaper routes...go Koni's with Eibachs or Intrax and get it right the first time, youll save money in the long run. thumb

I got some moog cargo coils and am going to get some kyb gr2s. I plan on cutting the front springs to slightly lower the car. THe moogs are a little bit stiffer then stock to. Im gonna spend around 370 for the combo.

I have KYB GR-2s...ok for daily driving and on good surfaces, but on bad roads not good...not the best strut for performance. :(

Again...save up a little more and get the Koni's or Tokico's, safer and better performance. thumb

Are you lowering your car for looks or for performance? If its just for looks then I recommend that you get a different car (im not burnin u, im just lettin u know something), with sho's. The stock suspension is great... If you lower it, you will feel it... With the lower car comes feeling every bump on the road (especially with the intrax) it will shake your dash and your sunroof, if you hate rattles i recommend you just leave the car how it is. After lowering my car i have found that there are only 2 places it is comfortable to drive... at 90 in the carpool lane (where no big trucks ruin the road) or on a freshly paved city street (which are pretty rare in my area).

Hope it helps,

Element is correct. If you are trying to accomplish this from a looks standpoint you may not like the ride that you get, nor will it handle as well as it does stock. IMO, either do a spring and strut change together or just leave it alone.

You also could get the Koni's and then use the stock springs. However with 17's you will have wheel gap in the front that some don't like from an aesthetics standpoint.

If you go to my webpage and look at the Opal SHO you will see what kind of gap I am talking about.

Sounds to me like you want to get in on the coilover suspension group buy that Mikey is trying to put together. Any ride height you want.
