Yeah, we'll try this again!! OK, When I get into my 98 and shut the door, and put the keys into the ignition and start 'er up alls well except for the fact that the door ajar light stays on and the dome light doesn't go off. Also the driver door won't stay locked, like when you leave the keys in the ignition and try to lock the doors. Anywho, if anyone has any idea please let me know, Ford wants $70.00 just to check it out, but they did say that it could possibly be the door contact switch!!

Thanks for any help!!

I believe the solution is a little WD-40 or equivalent applied to the door latch. That'll loosen things up.
I've heard of several people having the same problem and the WD-40 method is always recommended.

In the words of my mentor, "Monty Burns"...."Excellent (to be said with a sinister tone).

Thanks everyone, I will try that ASAP, but first if you can believe it, I must go out to the local Wal-Mart and purchase some WD-40, all I've got is a cheap off-brand called "White Grease" and yes is is just like white grease, it leaves a nasty white slimy residue, so I'll go get the original and spend the extra $.50 !!!

Thanks again!!
