Nope. The car will run without it.

Of course, mud, dirt, etc will will accumulate inside the fenderwell at a tremendous rate and will rot out the innards.

Also, dirt, etc will make its day into the engine well after getting slung there by the tires.

I meant the splash guard under the front fender, (not wheel wells) I know the car will run. I'm at work right now because of it. Will dirt and all that shit harm the lower 1/2 of the engine

Under the front fenders are the wheel wells... shrug

Do you mean the plastic piece that's under the center of the front bumper? One of the functions of that piece is to help direct air up through the front of the engine compartment and into the air intake.

Yeah!!!! Thats what I was talking about. Your saying that it can lower the cars performance??? I have not noticed. My engine always runs cool, no codes or anything. I can put it back on. Is it worth the b/s boink

That piece functions as an air dam to create a higher pressure forward of the A/C condenser and radiator to force more airflow through them. It also creates a higher pressure for the fender mounted air intake system. Yes, your car will run without it, but it will have less margin of safety for the cooling system and slightly lower perssure of the feed air into the intake system.

It might not affect the cooling on the SHO too bad, but I've seen other cars overheat severely with it removed....I'd put it back on

Yeah.... I think I'll put it back on, I need the bolts that hold it on...Probably find them at the local auto zone or something
