Hey guys, got a problem i hope yall could help me out with. Got a 1993 SHO 3.2... My headlamps, dome lamps, and dash lamps have gone into strobe light dance party mode. I mean really flashing! I recently replaced an alternator, and while I was in there I noticed the clip on the side of the plug going into it had broken off upon removal allowing it to wiggle a bit. It seemed like it stopped if I pushed the plug in a bit, and it would be fine for a few days then it would come back. I just replaced the plug and it's still doing it! Now, I ordered the plug online from Auto zone because the one they gave me at the store didnt look anything like the one I was replacing. It was black, square-ish and had 2 wires, black and red. I found out a minute ago on search a here that the black wire on the 3-wire plug is dead, so I was thinking....Was that the right one? Or is it something else I should look at? Thanks!!

Sounds like the voltage regulator is not converting the current to true DC. There is obviously an issue with that area. Maybe take the alt back to get tested?

Now that I have the thing out, it does sound a wee bit crunchy...I just hope that's the problem. Thanks.
