Din Cupholder removal

Im putting a Gen 2 console in my 91 and im having a hard time getting the cupholder out of the lower din. Ive got it almost all the way out but theres a little tab on the bottom center of the cupholder thats catching on the trim piece.

I dont know what im doing wrong and i cant remember how to get it out. Ive had it out plenty of times but who knows.
