i blew the starter that came on the 95 because of a bad sylanoid, now i just replaced it with the starter from my 92 but the third wire (not the direct power from battery or the ground) connects to the starter differently. the 95 used a ring end and was secured with a nut on a stud. the 92 starter uses a spade terminal on on the starter. is it ok to just splice a new end on the wire and and roll with it. i also noticed that the wire itself is much larger on the 95 as apposed to the 92. will it still work or am i just going to fry it?

Ford got rid of those spade terminals in 94 or 95 I think. They were a constant cause of problems. I dont think you should have a problem swapping them. But if you ever need a new starter, you will have to get another 92 or change the wire again. And if you splice it, I would make sure you have the actual wire from the 92. It had a locking clip on it to secure it. And then clean it really good and use some dielectric grease on there.

The only difference is ATX to MTX....they are still interchangible though.

One of the pinions is 12 tooth and the other one is 10 tooth...I forget which...

As for the third wire....connect it however you want. I've soldered a lead off of the starter and used 2 ring connectors bolted together and shrinkwrapped.
