Stopped by the dealer we use at work and gave them my vin and let them know I wanted the EXACT pad that was on my 13 PP SHO.

Picked them up without looking and when I looked at the receipt it was
P/n FU2Z-2V001-H (Motorcraft). Everything I see on the forum shows they should have been Ford p/n DG1Z-2001-F.

Are these different pads? I want what it came with because I simply loved everything about the original set, from the way they bite to the complete lack of noise. I just need to confirm if these are different p/n's for the same thing or are they different friction material pads.

Thanks for any input

I'm also looking for the same answer. This is the listing from www.fordpartsgiant.com and I haven't been able to make a decision.

There are three pad offerings for the P.P. sho on my 2016. The factory oem option, a factory equivalent, and then a heavy duty spec is how I looked at it.

I had the factory equivalent on my sho for a bit and didn't like them they also didn't have the springs on them to pull them away from the pads like the factory pads. I eventually warped a rotor (most likely due to me not properly cleaning the caliper anchor) and put the factory pads back on.

So in a nut shell, they really didn't give you the wrong pads, they will work. They just are not the factory pads.... clear as mud? Because I couldn't figure out why there was three offerings.

You want the pads that call out they are for use under warranty if I recall corectly.correctly.

I fired up the 'puter. Yes you want the DG1Z-2001-F pads.

And I lied. There are four pad options by vin for a p.p. sho. Warranty eligible (the F level part), OE design - non warranty repair (no spring), standard duty (dont know about spring) and severe duty pads (blue and have a spring).

The not for warranty on the Motorcraft part was a bit of a red flag for me. The factory pads are still on my 13 with 90k miles on the car. They still have a good innitial bite, no noise, and haven't warped the rotor (zero pulsation). Pretty damn happy about all the above so I'm going to call on Monday and see if I can get the OEM pads. The severe duty has me intrigued, but I'm guessing that was more of a interceptor part.

I recall that there is a website you can look up brake pad part numbers (the number etched onnthe pad) to get an idea of how the pad performs. I forget the website. I read about it in one of my car magazines I get.

Ford Service Parts carry 3 lines of brake pads. The standard, which you received, OEM, and Severe Duty. If you want the OEM, you should get the DG1Z-2001-F.

The Motorcraft replacement pads meet the Ford specs, but don't get the same level of testing as the OEM pads. The compound is usually not as vehicle-specific either.

cheers
