Has anyone heard anything about (updates) on the new Diablochip coming out? Is it out yet and if so, does it work? I really, really, really would like to get one!! :) :)

Also, where the heck is the computer on the GEN III?

Thanks for all the input.

From www.v8sho.com :
Compchip

"The computer is located in the firewall behind the intake. It is at the top. You can read the computer code off it (mine is JJK2). I used a 500W halogen sitting on the intake to get good visibility.

Next, I removed the 144 (?) pin connector from the front fact of the computer with an 11 mm socket wrench (you can fit it down in there, handle to the left, getting maybe 3 clicks per rotation). The face of the computer is now showing.

The computer is mounted much like a 80's car radio. There's a bezel holding it in place, secured by 2 10 mm nuts on deep threaded shafts. I used a deep socket to remove the bolts, took off the bezel with a little jockeying, and slid out the computer over the intake (just fits through)."

Two questions: Does the PATS system cause any problems with the Diablo Chip?

AND

When you've had your PCM reflashed, which code do you give your dealer? The code on the pcm or the reflashed code? Or both?

Thanks

The chip has no issues with PATS, I have the hopefully last version of the chip being sent to me this week. BUT I dont have a car untill next, it will be around time of the convention that they will be available (hopefully) and you can get them at a discounted price from SHOFAST

I think that if it looks to good to be true, it most likely is. Any Ford? How does that work? The same chip that works on my SHO will work on my F450 based Ambulance?

I just asked the guy for info - like how does the same chip work on 2 totally different design computers (EEC-IV / EEC-V).

Note also he's changed his name on 6/30/02, and has no feedback from anyone yet. He's also got an "all GM", & an "all Jeep / Dodge" module on other auctions.

Sounds pretty shady to me.

Fred,

It says in the product description to email him your computer code.

"deadgadgets" isn't a real confidence inspiring screen name.

Yeah, I've been talking with him, he indicates in the general description that it was one all-encompassing chip, but in email he says it's flashed for your specific application.

So, for $75, pick up a Diablo for your Ford.

Some guy bid on all ten of the chips for $100 each. That's a lotta scratch to put down, but there's the potential to make it back if he resells them. Personally, I think the seller bid on all 10 to drive the price up.

Does anyone have an idea what the new Diablo chip that SHODWN is testing will cost (roughly) from SHOFAST? I'm just curious how much I should save up.

Thanks

Sam
