CV shaft removal

Is there a special tool needed to remove the cv shaft?

I did mine with a shortish pry bar. It should pop out rather easy.

No special tools. Just a tire iron will do it. Place it between the trans case and the inside end of the axle. Prying like that never works for me...but kicking it pops it out every time.
