CV Halfshaft help!!

I put new CV halfshafts on my 89. Took for a test drive and a mile down the road the passenger halfshaft separated from the intermediate shaft. I did put a new circlip on the intermediate shaft. I got them from Ford and it was a perfect match from the one I took off. I heard the axle click when I installed it as well. Could this be a bad shaft or did I not install it correctly. Any input from those who have done this before is appreciated.

After a closer look, it didn't separate from the intermediate shaft. The inner joint just failed. Unbelieveable, after only a mile. It was a CCT brand from Autozone. Took it back and will get another one from somewhere else. :cry:
