So i posted a thread about my car having a weird hiccup but it seems to have turned into more than that, it only ****** for a second on my way home. Then about two days later after warming my car up for roughly 10 minutes i headed off to work and it died about 200 feet down the road. Would not restart. Went back at about 11pm, "i left about 7:30am" and it still would not start. Had my brothers help me push it to our church parking lot across the street from my house and there it sat, since Friday of last week. Went back over there today and she fired right up no hesitation at all. I ran the check engine codes and came up with this.

114 (O,R) IAT sensor out of range - IAT
528 (M) System shows voltage at pin 10 (is A/C on ?) or pin 30 (PNP, CPP switch) - PNP
542 (O,M) Fuel pump open, bad ground or always on - - Power / Fuel Pump Circuits

I just had a full 120K done by Mike (nwshoparts) about 2500 miles ago so i would not expect it to be the CPS.

What do you guys think?

I just found this thread, so I apologize for coming in late.

None of those codes seem like they would make the car do what it was doing.

A possible issue could be the CCRM starting to fail and cutting off the fuel pump. It could also be a fuel pump, but since it is new, the chance of that is low. Next time it won't start, listen to see if you can hear the fuel pump when you turn the key to the on position.

Call me if you run into problems and we will get it fixed one way or another.

That sounds like the description of a heat-related fuel pump failure. If and when it happens again and the car will not start, turn the ignition key to ON (not START) and listen for the CCRM relay "click" above the radiator and the 1.5 second "whine" of the fuel pump in the tank. A "click" with no "whine" points to the pump, no "click" points to the CCRM.

Can a bad contact in the ignition switch below the steering column cause the CCRM to not energize?

The car has a new fuel pump, but even a new pump could fail. I am leaning towards the CCRM, since it is not new.

Keep us up to date

Mine had a similar problem when the water pump started to leak slightly. This caused rust to form on the crank position sensor, which eventually failed. A new H2O pump and CRPS solved the problem.
Notice any coolant in your driveway behind the right front tire?

Alright well fast forward to a couple days ago and my car died again. It ran great for about 400 miles. Not a single glitch with anything. Im doing hunters safety so i drove my car there and shut it off. After about 4 hours of class i get out and my car just cranks and wont start. I listen closely and my fuel pump is not running. I got out and had my dad turn the key and i listened to the CCRM, now it clicked like 5 or 6 times...isnt it only supposed to click once? Do you guys think the CCRM is just freaking out? The fuel pump is practically brand new....

How low do you run your gas tank? Me thinks I'd try a can of "Seafoam!!" Stuff works wonders for about $8 at advanced or Wal-mart!:sun:

I never let my car get to far past 1/4 tank of gas. Seafoam might work but it seems electrical, plus i need to get it running before i seafoam it.

I would recommend swapping in a known good CCRM and see what that does. Do you know anyone with an 89-93 MTX close to you?

No i do not know anyone who has one...I was thinking of roaming through some of the local junk yards in hope of finding one. I think you swapped mine out for one of yours Mike? Because my fuel pump didnt work. Also does the letter on it matter? Mine has an M..

no one has answered this yet.. sorry to hijack but im having the same problem right now. crank and no start. i hear my fuel pump, gonna go and listen for the ccrm, but the day before it wouldnt start i notice my iginition switch had a little issue, with the key in the accesory possition my power windows wont work and it causes a short if i hit the window switch. but the windows work fine in the ON position.
