So I just put an SHO into my 1991 mx6. its all bolted in, but now i have to deal with the wiring.

from what i understand everything in mx6 operates separate from the stock ecu and stock ecu wiring harness. so all i really think i need to do is get power and grounds to the starter, ecu, and fuel pump to get it running

im not a complete newb to electronics but definitely not savy by any means. is there a pinout available that i can use to just run a power and ground to the stock ecu to get it running? i searched a didnt find anything. any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated at this point

edit: forgot to mention i have a 90 mtx sho with a full wiring harness and ecu. im also curious about gettin rid of this headlight wiring etc

See if this helps. It's the computer schematic for a '91 mtx:

Obviously not in pin order, but it should be a good start to get the car running.

It doesn't show pins 8, 34, 38, 42, 44, 52 or 53, but without looking at my spare harness I don't know what's attached to those pins.

More data points after looking up the pinout for a 5.0 ECU:

On 5.0 ECUs, pins 8, 34, 44 and 53 aren't used either. Pins 42 and 52 drive the two additional injectors, so it makes sense they aren't used for our motors. And pin 38 is for secondary air bypass, something the SHO V6 doesn't have.

So, chances are the unmarked pins on this diagram just aren't used on the SHO V6.

I strongly suggest you get the Ford Helms book off ebay , 91 taurus electrical and vacuum is what you are looking for. Ive seen ones around 5-9$

Since its illegal to post copyrighted stuff (diagrams) I highly doupt someone will post the whole shebang on here.

Nope, don't wanna post copyrighted stuff. That's why I direct linked to the Autozone online stuff. Just a URL pointing to the info they already have up.
