Has anyone made a new sunroof seal on the gen 2? My seal is rolled over and torn off. I need a new one but i dont see it very smart paying 55 for a little piece of rubber that can be fabricated. Anyone had any success? Thanks

I agree with kevinspann. Buy a new seal. Save your energy and creativity for something else. I went the route trying to save some coin on the seal just to realize that the 60 bucks on a new one was it. You will definitely have a chance to be crafty elsewhere many times over with the Sho. Pick your battles wisely.

I know it's not pretty but you can silicone seal the sunroof with clear caulk until you can buy the seal if the wind noise is driving you nuts.

The noise is crazy. The old seal has serves no perpose anymore. Not to mention the occasional bath on a rainy day when i accelerate. Had quite a few large expensises thos past week and left me hangin. Sucks but will pull through.

http://www.wikisho.com/wiki/Moonroof_maladies - follow this to get rid of the water issue.
The noise comes from the front edge of the moon roof, put some black electricians tape across the front side when the roof is closed.
Most seals are installed with the "break" (where the 2 ends join together with sealant) along the front edge, and even a small separation causes a lot of noise.

I've made one good one out of 2? It's not watertight it just has to be good enough for wind noise and to leak slowly. Put the joint on the sides like someone said
