Anyone here got some experience in building custom boxes in the trunk of a Gen2?

I'd like for something to match the interior, and still provide access to the spare tire well, and look like it's "built-in" to the car.

Ideas? Pictures of stuff already done?

I have what I guess is a custom box. I made it myself. But here's what I did. I put the box in the center of the trunk and made a false wall around the box with the box extended 2" from the wall. On either side of the sub I have my amps and the d-blocks above them. It goes from the backseat to the end of the wheel wells so I still have a decent amount of room left and still have access to the spare tire. If I could get a pic of it up I would to explain it better but I don't have the equipment to do it. Sorry

I had a custom box made for my 94. The box was just made out of HDFB than on the back side of that was a board cut out to fit the shape of the trunk and carpeted. Then mounted my amps and x-overs and fuse blocks. It came all the way back and covered about 2-3 inches of the spare tire cover, but didn't inhibit getting the spare out at all. Oh in case your wondering it housed 2 10" JBL sub's in it. Took everything out to sell about 1 year ago but just can't let go.

find someone who makes either speaker boxes, or cabinets. then all you have to is decide where you want which subs. you could have one on each side of the trunk opposing each other, a single box at the foremost part of the trunk, or, my fave. a centre mounted box with 1 good sub. i have this mounted under the factory sub in my trunk. oh, and if you don't fasten the box down you can move it around to access things as you want. but it might shift a little on it's own under heaving steering at speeds.
