I was interested in do custom boxes in the trunk, but i want to save as much trunk space as possible. I was iterested in doing a subwoofer near each tire well. I saw some pic's before where people have done it, but don't remember who did it. If you have, what kind of sound are you getting with the subs facing each other.

I had 2 10" round Kicker Solobarics mounted in a fiberglass tub in the spare tire well and it sounded great. I was thinking about going the route you mention here, but I decided to lose a lot of weight and go simple with a JL 8w6 mounted in the stock box. I did some testing though and the sound was pretty good with each sub in a corner. You may want to wire one out of phase though so that the 2 waves don't cancel eachother when the meet in the middle of the trunk.

My 8" doesn't rattle windows, but the sub and ~350 watts, sounds great. I need to add some dynamat to the rear deck come spring time when the mat isn't brittle from the cold.

You used fiberglass to make those boxes? I can see why it was time consuming.

yes, all fiberglass except for the mounting rings which are made out of MDF and fiberglassed inside.
