Hello SHO Platform Members,

As most of you are probably aware I design/manufacture/sell the front mount intercooler kits and big brake kits for the SHO platform. I recently revamped my company website and now have a new tab for ongoing R&D projects and new upcoming product offerings. Please feel free to check out the site and shoot me a message if you have any additional questions or interest in products.

The upcoming projects look promising! I like the flat bottom undertray, are you planning on making it wider than the car to give it the look of side skirts?

Nova,

I plan on keeping it inside the body of the car. Side skirts could def be made but I was only making the flat floor to improve performance not necessarily for looks. Skirts are cool though for sure

I thought I'd ask to see maybe you plan on doing it farther down the line.

I could if you wanted them, I’m open to it all. But for the most part mods that have measurable performance improvements are first on my rational when doing upgrades.

If you made them into side skirts it would be a performance upgrade and have a cool factor to it so it's killing 2 birds with one undertray!

Can you explain the difference between the Aero4 and Superlight4 calipers (and brackets) since you’ll have brackets for both?
Also, how come the testing was cancelled with sm105k? I was curious as this was testing done by an outside source. Thanks

Ford Stan,

The Aero4/6 utilizes a flat mount pad and is rated up to a 15" rotor, the Superlight 4 has an internally contained counterbore style mounting pad and is only rated for a 14" rotor. This creates a serious design constraint and expensive CNC machine geometry and is why I am continuing to try and find a cheaper alternative shy of going and getting a pattern/casting instead of hogging the profile out of aluminum bar.

SM105K is a great guy and very informative/helpful to the platform. However, as a small business owner trying to save for a house down payment and car enthusiast I really don't have the spare $$$ to give out free products of that nature due even if road testing would be provided by him. That is ultimately why that didn't end up happening.

Per your request see the wilwood technical drawing for the aero4 caliper with flat mounting pad

Stan,

They are both great pieces of hardware, they are just sized as stated in the above response. From a stock 13.8" rotor standpoint, the Aero4 and the Superlight 4 provide the same performance just at different price points and the Superlight 4 is slightly lighter by about 4-5 lbs per caliper.

I need an under tray, have it slated as my next diy project but would be really nice not to build it from scratch. Any idea on pricing or time frame?

Im planning on starting this project in the next 6-8weeks after I wrap up the carbon fiber air box, ducting, superlight 4 caliper brackets. I will post pictures of the tray installed and any obstacles that I encounter along the way.
