I am not sure if they are 18" becuse I went to the AR web site and the biggest was the Vortec 17 x 7.5, and they say that the rims are 4 bolt. Take a look at the AR web site: http://www.americanracing.com/wheels/details.asp?wheelid=83&name=Vortec&type=1-piece%20alloy,%20clear%20coated&picture=Vortec

I have heard that some 18's will fit on the gen 1, but I think it depends mostly on the tire. Not positive though. Maybe someone else can give a difinitive answer because I also am intersted in getting 18's.

I think i rather get a 17x7.5 rim and put 245/45/17 tires on it- i dont think i want 18's on mine...but i heard 245 tire might rub it might not..i used ot have 225 on my 94 sho and dang it was close to the well...and my 91 the tires r in the well so im scared to get bigger rims and tires...so give me some options and advice....

If you have the right tire size, it's not the diameter of the wheel that determines whether it will fit or not. It is all the wheel width. You can have a 15" wheel but it won't fit if it's 9" wide. If the wheel is 18X7.5 it could very well work. If the wheel is a 19", if the width and offset are correct, it will fit with the right tire.

they will fit, but why bother? They are heavy as ****, a stock slicer hovering around 19 lbs, and those being 28lbs. An SVT T-bird rim weighs in at around 21 lbs.

Depends on the type of 18" rims, my 18"x8" weigh in at 24lbs. I've been looking in on some 19"x8.5" rims which weigh in under 20lbs each(but the $$$ goes up

My 235's still have some space between the wheel well's, so it will defitnly come down to width and fitment of the next rim you decide to buy.

Edien, you're right. It's hard to see with it being all black but there is definitely a gap. I wonder if he has uprgraded springs, because the Roush springs that I have seen on 3rd Gen's give it a nice low stance.

You guys with 19, 20" wheels will have to add superchargers just to get back the performance you'll lose by adding all that unsprung weight and rotating mass. Happy motoring!

Maybe with minimal TQ cars like civic's etc., maybe on rotational mass we'll lose TQ but whats .001-.009 on an ET if your SHO looks hot?? And remember not all 19"-20" rims weigh in over 30lbs ea, Volk Racing is a good example of a 19x9 rim which only weigh in at about 18lbs(lighter than the slicers). Shit you live locally, we should meet up, so I can SHOw you what a SHO with 18's can really do:D.

Blast7 it looks like it has a stock suspension, with those ROUSH springs i've seen on CMurder's Gen III those 20's would tuck in the back wheel well:).

SHOMEUP i'm selling them for $1,200(i pay S&H), the only pics I have them real close are on my web page(which arent close-ps at all), but i'll try to get some soon of you really need them.

Are you kidding me?? I had a set of 17X8 MOMO Sports w/ 235/47Z17 Yokohama Nexus on my '92. They definitely had an effect on acceleration. They were nasty looking, but I'm looking into getting SSR GT1 wheels (17lbs) and a set of Yokohama A032R tires. What, our cars have boatloads of torque? There is a definite difference not only in acceleration but handling as well. That's why I win at autocrosses, because I have a set of humble, simple light 16X7 wheels with 225/50 16 Goodrich R1's. They spin quickly and turn even quicker.

Well if your gonna use good looking wheels for that purpose then you might as well have two sets of wheels and have the best of both worlds:D!!
