So, i bought the harness to install the aftermarket HU, had the Amp bypass piece in it as well, Wired everything up as described, but did not bypass the amp, there is sound on Left front adn left rear only.. right has nothing.

1. NO i did not mix the wires up >.<
2. Whether i use the amp bypass or not, same result.
3. if i hook the factory unit back in, even without the amp i get sound from all 4 pts.
4. im getting signal out from all 4 pairs on the back of the HU, so i guess its not the unit. its a Sony CDX-GT420IP (ipod edition)
any suggestion? bad harness maybe?

If i use the fader and go all right, LEFT front and Left Rear still working, nothing from right. if i go all left, no sound at all.

Then there is a mix up somewhere in the wiring... keep looking man, it can be frustrating but retrace everything and you should be able to get it right...

turns out, the harness pins, that were "mating" to the plug in the cars wiring were smaller than the openings, and some were not making appropriate contact!

all good now
