Cruise Control revisted

As some might remember my cruise control worked on my SHO than stopped.

I finally got the time to replace all componets and now the result is mixed .... but a good mixed.

I can get the cruise to work after several attempts of turning it on and once on it stays on. Longest I have had it working is 12 minutes constant before disengaging. Disengaging is another issue for turning power off at the steering wheel takes a while too. It wont disengage the first time. Takes several attempts with the off button to disengage.

What I replaced is the following: put a good known working servo in and rewired to the factory harness. Used but good VSS connector .... I checked vacumn lines seem to be ok, replaced the steering wheel with another ( for buttons) and fast forward to present day

Accel doesnt work well but resume does.

Since I think its now the buttons on the wheel ... would this be the clock spring ? or something else for making the cruise work but difficult to engage.

you can verify the various resistance values of the different buttons to see if they match up with what is required. if you start with the controls themselves, you will then know if that part is right. if it is, then you can move on to the clockspring, etc.

I have seen the buttons go bad, the clockspring go bad, and the connectors get crudded up, so you have plenty of possibilities.
