Ok, so I stopped at the gas station yesterday, and the starter just clicked when it went to crank it. I push started it, got it home, and got a new starter/solenoid this morning. I got it all back togethor, and it started just fine. I turned it off after it ran a little while, and the damn thing just clicked again. Did i just fry another solenoid? Should I go looking for a short somewheere, and if so, where?

the battery started it up strong as ever 2 minuts before i turned it off and tried starting it again. I now took the starter back off, im going to take it in and have the solenoid checked again tomorrow, make sure its still working right. I might as well bring in the battery and have it load tested as well.

It could be a plate shorting out in the battery. I had one doing that last summer and a new battery fixed it.

svt is right. The battery will give NO warning whatsoever. In my 2001 Taurus, I got in to start it, and all it would do was click (several clicks). I even got a portable jumper and that didn't help either. I thought for sure it was the starter. Turned out to be the battery.
Good luck, regardless.

Man, I thought you were having bowel problems and starter problems.

Here's another case of ...

85% of fixing something is finding out what is wrong.

Throwing money at a problem doesn't make it go away. You've got to know where to aim.

agreed... thumb

The problem could also be related to something as simple as a bad battery cable. Possibly an alternator issue as well.

you need to get yourself a multimeter...

Back in Michigan ... again.
Sometimes those reman parts aren't worth the box they come in. I went through FOUR pep boys alternators on my old GL vulcan before I got one that lasted longer than a couple thousand miles. And the alternator I replaced on my 95 MTX was bad from the get go. A starter or alternator isn't hard to swap if you get a bad one, but a damn water pump or PS pump is a PITA to get at...that's why I'm not a fan of just automatically replacing hard to access parts unless they're bad to begin with.
