Are there any pictures of a crank sensor so i know what to look for? Is there a sticky on how to change it? Its not part of the 60k is it? I had a garage change the serpentine belt, water pump, etc but i don't believe they touched that.

I even checked rockauto to look at/buy one and they don't carry them.

Yes it is considered part of the 60k. You can also order a CPS from RCM Automotive and SHO Source. I actually just made a 60k order this morning, need to whip my SHO into shape before Carlisle!

There are plenty of pictures around the forum if you search, I'll try and find some for you.

edit:

Here is a picture of the CPS in place (1st picture). The others are 60k related pictures.

Here is a picture with the CPS removed, this is why you change it!

It is the only sensor on the front of the engine right above the crank. It has a magnetic pickup that is triggered by the "flutter ring" thats spinning behind the balancer. Buy a repair manual .

Usually the crank sensors are good or no good. They only act up when they get wet from your water pump leak, but when they dry out, they work again..... usually.
If you are still diagnosing.... look for the spout connector above the power steering pump and pull it out. Look on that info pad on top of the rad for a reference to it. That forces your engine to rely only on the crank sensor for its timing reference. If it runs exactly the same with the spout out, then your cam sensor is acting up, not your crank sensor. Put it back in exactly as you removed it, if it is upside down, it doesn't seem to work.

Sounds like my problem. I can only work on it on the weekends though so i'll try it then. But how come the car didn't pull a code for crank sensor?

What is this "see urch boot on" you speak of? What kind of black magic are you trying to spread in here?! Well i won't stand for this! BURN THE WIZARD AND **** HIS FAMILY!

Yeah thanks for your help ****. How about i go into every post in the forum and copy and paste what you said? I'll be doing alot of good with that.

I do want to thank the first two guys for your help. But not that last guy. Not only do i have problems with my car but people like him have to be jerks about it instead of actually helping as if i didn't have it bad enough. I used the search button and it didn't help. Happy? Now what smart a**?

I don't know how i missed it on rock auto...I could have sworn it wasn't there yesterday. I searched under crank sensor too. But i appreciate the help

Wow. Cause like...if you google "SHO 60k includes", you get like no hits or nothin'

except this...
http://www.shophoenixproject.com/lower60k/60kparts.htm

and this...
http://www.cincysho.com/Taurus_SHO/Ford_SHO_Catalog/60k-Maintenance.htm

You were right when you said you should sell your SHO as is...maybe buy a Honda?

And if you search SHOForum for "60k includes", you get this...
http://www.shoforum.com/search.php?searchid=1698070

No help at all.
