I was looking through some threads about "crank cancer" and I am confused. Could someone explain this? Also I am going to be doing the cam seals and front seal this weekend and wanted to know if the autozone puller is ok? Ive read that some people were using SHO bolts to get the pulley off? I had my friends dad take this pulley off last time so I dont remember exactly how he did it. I do know that we used the harbor freight puller but we needed some special bolts that would fit it. Well I dont have air tools where I am and I dont have the puller set, just hand tools. Could someone explain this "bump" method to get the pulley off or the easiest way to get this guy off without power tools.

I can't remember the exact size of the bolts used to pull the balancer off off the crank but the autozone kit I rented, had them in it. To pull the timing pully off you can use the two longest bolts from one of the timing covers. And you use the bump method to loosen the crank bolt.

The same puller works, but you need different bolts to pull the gear. They are smaller and longer, I forget exactly what they are.

From my last post, use the two longest timing cover bolts to remove the timing pulley.
