I just replaced my engine in my 89. I went through to make sure everything was connected it was. I noticed my tack does not move when it cranks so I tried a different crank position sensor shimmed it to .030 and still nothing. I traded the top engine harness with the engine I pulled out the reason I pulled it out was because it knocked so the car did run before I did this. I also tried a different DIS module still nothing. I checked codes and I got 95 witch is fuel pump secondary circuit failure if any one has any ideas please let me know.

Did you verify

1) DIS module proper grounding path from module thru intake to firewall?

2) Power to the coil?

3) The fuel rail properly pressurizes to 40 psi during key-on?

4) Power to the CPS circuit?

Ok went through it all and now I have spark. I also have fuel in the rail I dont know the psi dont have a guge flows out pretty rapidly though. I tested the compreshion it is around 90. I also tried a diffierent CCRM no change. When it turns over it turns freely then it halts real quick then turns easily again, keeps doing it continuiously.

90 is a little low for compression. Was this a verified running motor that you swapped in?

Based on the compression, and the crank and abrupt stop symptoms, I'd be checking the timing belt for proper installation, and the cams if you swapped those out.

when you did the compression test did you rotate the motor 3-5 times per cylinder? if not you will recieve a low rating. spose to rotate the motor till the gauge stops climbing in big pulses (usually 3-5 times) if your not getting a tach bounce when cranking the motor if memeroy serves me correctly that means you cam sensor is not functioning properly and will do ( at least to me it did) as you describe turn fast then hit a tought spot and turn fast and hit a tought spot. when it hits a tought spot turn the steering wheel you will notice a differance. swap cam sensor and try again

Yea I knew it had a little low compression. But I did figure out why it did not start. I was stupid I put stage I cams in it and on the left bank of the engine I messed up the timing on the timing chain cant believe I did that. But all is good didn't break anything and it runs great.

Can anyone help me as I have no spark at all, here is what has been done, new water pump, new timing belt, another cps sensor what am I missing, all I did was change the thermostat and she ran good for 2 weeks then all of sudden she would stall, still ran and know finally there is no spark at all too the plugs, coil is fine, she turns over great but that is it and yes the tach does move, any sho owner must have had this problem sounds like a simple fix but we are stumped and my beautiful baby is just sitting still
PLease help a sho owner who misses his baby
