Ok I went to start my 1990 SHO after school let out today to go home but it would crank and wouldnt fire.

Heres what i checked:

all wire connections under the hood, entire fuse panel ,all fuses good, the DIS module connections, the fuel pump still primes its self, it has a full tank of gas, all the wire connections seemed ok

The symptoms:

Cranks faster then usual, yesterday in gear with the clutch pushed in it would bounce between 1,000 and about 1,300 rpm, seems to have no spark, oh and it doesnt start

Right now it is sitting in a church parking lot near my school. Im going to get it tomorrow when my cousin returns our car trailer he borrowed.

Does anybody here have any ideas? Ive heard ideas that the timing belt might be messed up or the fuel filter might be clogged. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Ive checked for spark at the plugs by pulling one of the wires off and hooking it to another plug and grounding it but still no spark.

If its cranking faster than normal my guess would be check the timing belt. IF its also a pretty loud whining noise its definitly the timing, they usually go that way!

Well it seems to have spark because I squirted in a little starting fluid and she popped and sputtered for a bit. So that means no fuel right? I tried cleaning the throttle body because it was kinda greasy, but that didnt help. Gas seems to be coming out of the fuel filter.

You said the fuel pump primes, though, which should at least get you started. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? A pressure test sure would come in handy right now.

Try grounding the fuel pump pin on the EEC Test Connector under the hood to force the pump to run continously, see if it starts then.

Well today my dads friend came up to wish me a happy birthday and we figured out what was wrong after finding out that it was getting good fuel pressure. The sensor on the air intake had condensation in it and was shorting out. It started right up this morning but shut down after a minute or so of running. The my dads friend Rich unplugged the sensor and it fired right back up and stayed running, I guess the hole that broke in the top of it didnt do any good. So now I need one of those MAP or MAF sensors, whatever they are called. Thanks everyone.
