alright been having drivability symptoms for a while now, found oil in my synchronizer and on my cps, i cleaned out the synchronizer and replaced the sensor itself it drove fine for about an hour i also put silicone around where the oil was seeping in. and rechecked it a week later, no more oil inside. my car hard starts 2 out of three times but it always starts. drivability is horrible at times mainly when it gets up to temp. i now have a 6000 redline, it always bounces off of 6000. today while driving my tach went from 2000 to zero, then bouncing up to 4000 at a steady 10 mph, it did absolutely nothing to the engine or tranny though. when i unplug my cps (after it gets to temp) it runs even worse. the last time i unplugged it the tach was still working, but the three other times i tried it i had no tach. does the crnk position sensor have anything to do with this? running out of things to change.

The CPS is the crankshaft position sensor. I suspect that's not what you replaced. I think you might be talking about the camshaft position sensor (CID) located at the end of the rear exhaust camshaft. If you unplug the CPS the engine cannot run.

It's hard for me to visualize what you did with the silicone, but IMO you should immediatly clean off any and all traces of it. It doesn't belong there. Replace the seal behind the CID sensor with a new one and then install a new CID sensor.

Have you tried pulling codes?
