First off I have to say SHO's are ths SHIT! I commute to college, deliver pizzas, and take long road trips constantly and SHO is still kickin. But it has 155,000 miles on it and soon enough something is going to happen and we all know what I'm talking about. Something big is gonna die:( I could either finance a new car, or I had another idea. I just need to know if it would work.
I see people parting out there SHO's that include a complete engine and tranny. So in theory if my ATX powertrane dies, could I replace it with an MTX Engine and Transmission from another SHO? I'm not very good with all this techinical stuff, any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, but unless the rest of the car is MINT, it'll most likely be cheaper to replace the car (sorry to say).

If I went through that much trouble to make a car better I would want to make sure the body and paint were in excellent condition, which at 155k I doubt they are. If you can get the drivetrain for cheap, then perhaps do it, but otherwise I agree with what Yamaha said, buying a lower mileage MTX would be cheaper in the long run.

you'd might as well just get an MTX parts car, since you would need:

console
shifter
AC lines and drier
y-pipe and exhaust resonator
MTX halfshafts
windshield washer fluid reservoir
coolant reservoir
radiator fan and shroud
radiator hoses
MTX computer, and full MTX wiring harness (from same year is alot less of a gamble)
the clutch and brake pedals
slave cylinder (just kidding)
and probably some other things I'm not remembering.
