Could someone show me where these go?

I bought the car this way, I dunno why they're loose or anything, but I know they have to go somewhere. Anyone have a pic of that side of the engine bay in stock condition? Thanks.

I don't know what you're looking at in the last picture but those things with the barb'd holder usually are attached to the plastic firewall cover that you seem to be missing.

The last picture might be the plug for the steering pressure switch.

What kind of car is that on?

It looks like diagnostic plugs to me. They dont go anywhere, they are for plugging in the code reader to get codes from you computer. Just stick the christmas tree push pins back into the firewall and leave them be. The small plug that is bare is also for the code reader. It does not go to anything else, but is probably missing the holder.

the last picture is the connector for the underhood light. Often, when they go bad, they get tossed. it has a really funky switch with a ball bearing in it tuck under the underhood mat.

The first picture is the ground of the EEC, I believe anyways

I also spy an ABS diagnositc port and an EEC diagnostic port.

do I get a prize?

So thats why everyone else's engine bays look cleaner than mine even when they're dirty! Ugh, that's missing, someone accidently 'custom' made me a four piece timing cover set, there's dodads with no place to go, man I wish there were junkyards around here I was allowed to scrounge through, they don't let you down here as far as I can tell, insurance reasons or something. As long as those things don't get caught in the belt I guess they should be fine.

the last pic is not for the underhood light, I have the same on my car, underhood light is connected, and I still have that one disconnected. I was going to post asking what that plug was for, but my vote is a diag plug.

The plug in the last picture has been disconnected in every SHO I have seen, including my own, and my hood light works. The first set of plugs connect to the plastic cover that mounts to the firewall. You could probably place a WTB ad and get one rather cheaply.

The unused plug is for VAPS diagnosis

The unconnected plug is connector C1041 - VAPS Data Link Connector. It is a diagnosis port for the Variable Assist Power Steering system. See Below:

C1041.gif

Here is a schematic of the VAPS system showing this plug:

vaps1.gif

And here is part of the diagnosis test showing the plug itself:

Okay, do I win a prize?

Also note that if you want to disable VAPS and leave the car at a 'low' power steering assist (40MPH or more), you might be able to use the diagnostic routine instead of cutting the VAPS wires and putting in a switch that you turn off while you are driving. While running the diagnostic procedures outlined above (by grounding circuit 200), you may be able to disconnect the VAPS stepper motor connector C1042 while the diagnostic is at the 'low assist' setting, and the stepper motor would be in permanent low assist.
