hey guys. it started about 4 months ago. my car started leaking coolant around the upper rad hose. so i checked and all was tight, but the hose was older. so later still leaked again, and i picked up a new thermostat and upper rad hose and put em on. im sure i put the thermostat with the jiggle valve up... i put it in the way the old one came out.

i got a a new rad cap too just last month. funny cause all seemed to be fixed but i dont know, it started happening again. no other hoses leaking.

any ideas?

Are you using a screw type hose clamp? If so and it is tight and still leaking there may be something on the neck of the pipe under the hose or the hose clamp is too far back from the end of the hose.

is it leaking fromthe radiator and looks like a hose?? these radiator plastic side tanks are known for leaking.

I would put a new radiator in it. They are not very expensive.

x2, this is what happened to me when i first bought the sho, the thermostat was stuck open, put a new one in, then the damn rad started to leak out the tank, i think i ended up paying around 175-200 for a rad from napa.

no see its leaking from the connection point between the rad hose and the thermostat neck. and also slightly from the plastic upper rad connection. screw clamps are tight, i have had this problem for about 3 months now. some weeks worse than others... it doesnt leak every single time. i have moved the clamps further up and down the neck, to no avail.

is the same hose leaking at both ends? it may just be a defective hose...not that i have seen one before, normally if it is still soft it should seal. Is there any corrosion around the neck, pitting or something? The cooling system normally will devolepe psi as it runs cap is the blow off valve so to speak. If you have a 14 psi cap the cap will vent at 14 psi. is the hose leaking and cap not venting? How old is cap? The cooling system works kind of like a pressure *** to cook beans or something as long as the cap is on good no boil over..if cap is loose big mess. i would pressure test the system and cap. and do a block test just to cover all the bases... dont forget to check electrolissi in coolant (problem for some cars)

Its not building too much pressure, there is some other reason it is leaking. If you are putting the clamps on right, maybe they are stripped and not clamping tight. If you get a pressure tester from AutoZone, you can see exactly where it is leaking from.
