Anyone have an opinion on the cooled seats? I was expecting more than what I've been experiencing.

The car I last had had "ventilated front seats" - and I believe that means it opens a duct where the cold air can travel to the seats (but is not forced air).

The Taurus appears to have a fan which forces the A/C into the seats - I hear a fan of some sort running when I select this option.

That being said, the Taurus' seats are far colder than the Buick I came from. I do like them.

Yes, there is a fan under each seat that forces the air into the seat cavities. There is also an air filter for each fan. The seats on my 2010 were OK, but the ones on my 2013 get cold enough on high I need to turn them down.

Yeah, wait until they stop working. Mine works 90% of the time but there are times they stopped working completely. No lights, no fans runnings. Then I can take a turn and the fans shut off but the lights stay lit up. They eventually come back on though. And mine doesn't get all that cold either. Never really has since day one.

It seems like mine only get cold on the bottom cushion but not the back? Any idea on what could be causing that?

Mine only get cold on the butt, not the back... in both seats. I don't think the cooling occurs on the back portion - only by virtue of proximity, maybe a touch, but not directly. Anyhow, I rarely use mine... if I use it, it's because it's really hot. They take a long time to take effect. (I get the feeling they're totally separate from the A/C of the car.) Once they do, it makes for a cool "wet" feeling in the bum. They're just odd feeling. So again, only when it's hot enough that I'm going to feel "wet" anyway because I'm so hot.
