About 4 weeks ago I drained my coolant system and changed my thermostat. After that I filled her up and ran her for a bit and then added a little more. Well today my Low Coolant Light came on, so I stopped at an O'reilly's and looked at my reservoir and sure enough it was close to bone dry. So I bought some antifreeze and filled her back up. At home I looked her over. Engine bay is completely dry, no antifreeze anywhere. Oil was pure golden, and tail pipes were clean with no water. My everyday parking space shows no residue from any leaks whatsoever. So where is my antifreeze going?

I do need new valve cover gaskets because oil is very slowing seeping into the spark plug holes.

Thanks for your help,
David

There are usually some recesses in the passages that get air pockets during an antifreeze change that don't get flushed out until the engine is good and hot and circulating at speed....not just a warm idle in the driveway. So it may have been almost down to the low level point for most of the 4 weeks. I've been fooled by the level sensor a couple of times and always check my coolant level visually. FWIW.
