(92' MTX) Does any one know where the coolant temp sensor, for the computer not the guage, is located? Also, does the sensor for the computer activate the cooling fan or is it the sensor for the guage? Thanks for the help.

The ECT sensor is on the coolant distribution manifold, that is located on the drivers side of the motor. It's just to the right of the thermostat and has a two wire plug attached to it. Kind of difficult to see but easy to remove with a deep socket, and a 6-12" extension. Use a bent tip ice pick to lift the tab on the connector and then pull the connector off.

Yes, among other things, the computer (PCM) uses the readings it gets from the ECT sensor to turn on the fans by way of the fan relay in the Constant Control Relay Module, (CCRM), located on the radiator core support. I believe the relay is always hot, just waiting for a ground, supplied by the PCM to trip the relay and send 12 volts to the fan motor.

Firewall side. The key is that it has 2 wires coming off of it, while the other gauge sensor has only one wire.
