Coolant leak!!!!!!!!!

Well, it is on the back side of the block, and I believe it is the hard line that goes from the block to the heater and has the temp sender on it.....

I have removed that line, but haven't determined if that is the source of the leak yet

I am having some issues tracking down a coolant line, and would like any help I can.....

if this isn't it, all I can think is that I lost a freeze plug

Edit: this is on the 95 mtx....

it more than likelly is that line mine in the 92 did the same thing....it had rusted and i have heard of this happening to numerous other members's cars......easiest way to fix it is to go buy some hose and cut the tube and slide the hose over it not to mention much much cheaper

the problem is, the pipe is rusted, but I couldn't find a crack or hole in it.....then again, I havent pressure tested the pipe yet

I am pretty sure that was the cause considering I had disturbed the coolant line getting the rear valve cover off when I fixed the oil leak and checked the valve lash

if that hose is rusted i would say that "probally" your problem mine you could never see it leak and couldnt see a hole or anything......so i jsut cut the pipe about a inch and a half from hte sensor on each side then slide the rubber hose on both sides and put clamps on it........no problems since........think it only cost me like 5 dollars for 6 feet of rubber hosing at advanced

Pressure test it to find exactly where it is leaking.

Shortly before getting rid of my white '91+, I had to change what I think was the same hose that you describe. It's a rubber hose crimped onto a metal heater hose that curls around to the back of the motor from the thermostat housing. I cut the crimp off and put a new piece of hose on with clamps.

Two weeks into ownership of my blue '95, I had to replace the exact same hose. Good thing it was fresh in memory how to do it! It now holds pressure perfectly, something I thought was impossible on these cars.

thanks, thats what I plan on doing when I install the new piece, mine was just rusted pretty good.....:(

I thought it was going to be impossible to get the bolt that holds the bracket in.....open end on a wrench only, and having to stretch so far and do it backwards...lmfao
