I have had this coolant leak and have been trying to figure out where its coming from. First off, I did have a leak in the upper radiator hose. I thought that fixed the problem. However I still get a smell of coolant and I am adding coolant frequently. Today I was working on my acc belt tensioner (because it took a crap) and I found steam rising up from within the upper intake. It is over by the throttle area but next to the schrader valve area. Is there a coolant line underneath? I dont want to tear the intake apart yet. Maybe its a head gasket?

Could be the coolant tube that runs between the heads. There is an O-ring that seals the tube to the T-stat housing...

thats not to rule out some type of leak on the t-stat housing or in that general area...

I would run the car, and look under the hood while reving the motor to about 3k (water pumps most effiecent rpm=highest flow=most pressure=best for finding leaks)... just look around to try and pin point the leak.

steel or al. one of the two... I can't recall...

The o-ring comes in a kit for the water pump.. Im sure RCM sells it... but I have bought it from Advance auto a few times... Comes with the o-rings, and a water pump gasket for a few bucks...

tube is stainless steel , your leak could be one of the small TB hoses

( I know had a small leak there took for ever to find )get the car up to temp and just look at the small hoses under the intake and throttle body
