is the coolant resevior (sp) the same from a gen1 to a gen2 mtx?

Seriously, didn't you own a gen 1? hahahah I'm almost 100% sure they are the same. I believe the only difference is between the Gen 2 MTX, and ATX.

Ah, you guys are wrong . . . .

. . . . while the change does not split along the Gen I/II lines, there were two different overflow bottles for the MTX:

Ford retail part numbers:
E9DZ-8A080-B (89-93 3.0 Coolant Recovery Bottle)
FODZ-8A080-A (90-93 3.0 Coolant Recovery Bottle and sensor)
F4DZ-8A080-A (94-95 3.0 Coolant Recovery Bottle)
F3DZ-8A080-B (93-95 3.2 Coolant Recovery Bottle)

E7ZZ-10D968-B (89 only 3.0 Coolant Recovery Bottle sensor)
FODZ-10D968-A (90-95 3.0 Coolant Recovery Bottle sensor)
F3DZ-10D968-AA (93-95 3.2 Coolant Recovery Bottle sensor)

Ford engineering part numbers:
E9DE-8C045-AF (89 only 3.0 Coolant Recovery Bottle)
F4DE-8C345-AA (94-95 3.0 Coolant Recovery Bottle)

You should be able to find the engineering part number somewhere on the overflow tank [most likely on the bottom].

Is there a physical difference for the MTX's? If so, I never took notice.
I learned something today.:)

I KNEW I saw two different coolant reservoir bottles in the MTX SHO's I've torn apart in the JY.

... so I'm not crazy.
