We have had this info on the SHOclub.com web site convention pages since day one, but just in case:
Pacific Raceways track policy on safety clothing:
You must have a Snell SA or MA approved helmet of year 2000 or newer for driver or passenger.
You must have leather or fireproof gloves. These CANNOT have any holes or cuts in the back. Traditional "driving gloves" with holes and open areas are NOT approved. Plain leather "farmer" style or work gloves will do just fine, or any approved racing glove of Nomex.
You must have EYE protection. Shatterproof glasses/sunglasses, or a face shield on the helmet will work.
NOTE: there will be cheap leather gloves to buy and safety style glasses to borrow (please return them) provided by the SHO group, thanks to Mike Stimson just in case you still forget to bring these items.
The traditional policy of long cotton pants and long-sleeve shirt is still in place (of course Nomex safety gear is also good). closed toe shoes as usual.
About passengers. Here is the policy from the club putting this event on for us this year, the Alfa Club:
DRIVER AGE REQUIREMENTS: Drivers must be legally licensed to drive in their home state.
PASSENGER REQUIREMENTS: A single (1) passenger will be permitted to ride along with instructors and those in the A or advanced group. Passengers may be allowed in B or intermediate group on a case by case basis. Check with the Safety Steward BEFORE asking to go on track. NO passengers will be allowed in the C or novice group. Younger passengers (under 16) may be allowed IF legally belted and with the proper clothing and eye protection along with an approved safety helmet. Track and club management reserves the right to limit passengers.
Hope this clears up any questions, if not please visit click on this link for a full rundown of all the rules:
