is it normal that my scan tool only connects to my 2010 when it is running? If I just push the button once to turn on acc. Drive the scan tool powers up but won't connect. I just thought this was weird but don't have any experience with push button to start systems. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think in accessory, the PCM isn't powered up so you can't connect. You'll get power from the OBD-II connector, but the PCM isn't "there".

Isn't there a way to get it to "ignition on" mode? I remember doing that to recalibrate the fly-by-wire throttle.

I haven't worked on cars consistently since 2009 so I don't know how the push button start system works. Back when I was at the dealer, you would only turn the acc drive to connect to the pcm and run a koeo test. I don't know about the ignition on mode.

To turn the ignition to run press the start stop button twice. The IPC will come up as it would even running and say press brake to start.
