It has been over a year since I copmleted the ATX/MTX swap, and I have filnally made an attempt at fixing my airconditioning system.
I took it to a FORD dealer to have them give it a try, but their electronic specialist can't figure it out. In all fairness I, left the ATX dash harness in and mated it to the MTX engine harness, so I may have messed up somewhere.
Any way, I think that The computer may be damaged. When I first fired the car up, I had 2 lights on the dash. The alternator light and the ABS. I know the ABSs not working, but the generator works fine, evern though the light stays on in the dash.
My courtesy lights worked fine and the electric radio antenna worked also. It went down whe I tuned the car off and up when I started. The courtesy lights went on when I activated the door handle, and stayed on for several seconds after I got in the car. They turned off several seconds after I locked the car, etc.
When I took the car to a muffler shop to have my resonater welded, I forgot to disconnect the battery, and later that day I noticed that my antenna no longer went down after I turned the car and the radio off, and the coutesy lights did not go off either. I eventually had to pull the fuses, disconnect powere to the antenna and remove the light bulbs. I left the bulbs in the key to the driver and passenger doors, and those have stayed on ever since.
Is it possible that using and electric arc welder could have damaged my computer or shorted something else inside the car to create this problem.
I have read that you should disconnect the battery when welding on a car, but completly forgot about it untill it was too late.
When I finally got around to fixing my a/c, the compressor would not turn on. I get a code 528 (M) System shows voltage at pin 10. Is A/C on? The blower inside the car turns on and everything esle seems to work.
I am thinking about replacing th computer.
