Well i was in the process of putting the resurfaced heads back onto the engine when the Chilton manual threw me for a loop and then some. So i searched the forums for the answer and i got several posts that helped a lot but i just need to have answered again so i cna understand it better.

For a complete re-time on the engine, i need to do this:

1)align the white dot on the crank pulley to the "0" degree mark
2) align the cam sprokets so that the bolts are at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions on each head
3) align the dots on the belt pulleys to the marks on the back plate on the belt cover. (12 o'clock position)

Am I missing anything or is this it?

Thanks a million! :bonk:

Did you take the chains off the cams? Understand that if you didnt, all you would have to do is match the passenger side cam sprocket dots with the marks on the timing cover and align the crank mark as you stated.

Everything is seperated... even the heads from the block. I had to get the resurfaced.
