cold engine miss

I have a '95 mtx and whenever the car is cold it is extremely lacking in power and misses really bad above 3000 rpm. Its so bad that I have to short shift at about 2500 all the way up to speed til it warms up. The other indication I have that something is screwed up is that while it's cold if i blip the throttle from idle it will backfire and hesitate and then rev.
Once the car is warm it runs like a bat out of **** and no engine codes so I have no idea whats going on.

Here is the list of new stuff: DIS, TPS, IAC, crank position sensor, plugs and wires are only about 6months old.

Any ideas would be great!

Could be a timing belt issue. Also check the wiring on the spark plug wires if you disconnected them recently.

well it first started acting up around 6 months ago thats when I changed the plugs and wires in it and they have not been touched since. However the wires were the cheap-o brand stuff from autozone because I wanted to see if it fixed it before I spent the big bucks on taylor wires again, well I have just been busy fixing so much other stuff on the car as of late I have just left them alone. Could they be worn out already?

It is possible. How to the plug boots fit over the spark plug? Are they tight?

yeah they are nice and tight. The one thing that really bothered my when I got them was that they only have one clip that holds them onto the coil pack. I don't know what is normally there cuz I bought the car with Taylor wires on it and they have two clips per plug.
