I replaced my factory intake with an Airaid Cold Air Intake. If anyone is interested in purchasing the original intake please let me know.

You may switch back as many others have done as well. CAI really don't do anything except draw hot air into the engine.

I don't have a gen 4, but on the surface that comment seems a bit nonsensical.

jmr is referring to people's practical experience with the available Gen 4 CAIs, Devin. They have been of no or detrimental benefit. The stock intake is very, very good in that regard. The K&N's metal body does it no favors, and the fact that the Airaid does not seal to the hood allows it to draw in engine bay heat as well. A different/additional weatherstrip takes care of the Airaid problem, and provides value at the track, but it is not an "official" solution.

Yeah, I have worked with all 3 this past year. The K&N sounded nice, but got too much heat soak and was slower than the stock box. The Airraid works nice, but yes you need to seal it better to the hood. I took one step farther and made a "homemade" lower air intake to provide extra colder air.

Yup, that is Spartn27's goal. He actually has a carbon fiber setup, and is signing people up for a group buy :)

Anyone familiar with the Motorsports Windstorm CAI? Livernois has it on their website. Trying to decide between this one or the Airaid.

Its just a rebranded Airaid from what I understand.

i agree. so whichever is cheaper. may not add HP but nice eye candy. a prefilter is a must. not expensive & worth every dime to keep filter clean.

That actually is incorrect, the easiest difference to spot is that we actually use a finely tuned dry filter that pretty much everyone would charge a premium for. There are several engineering upgrades made to the "rifling" on the inside of the tubing as well.

MDesign is the way to go!!! The air goes straight through to the engine via a large tube with NO bends made out of Carbon Fiber with the air filter inside - completely sealed and the carbon fiber keeps the air cool as it flows freely to the engine! Watch the YouTube video Spartn27 posted above. I just got mine and can't wait to install on my SHO!

my attempt to solve seal problem of the airaid, sits up more & could get it around whole length of the boxCainewstrip zpsb39d286a & unlike the rubber folding over just compresses when hold down. no real tests if it works but anything's better than the rubber tubing airaid sends.in addition to me makes looks a lot more finished.

you & rich did the same thing i just stole the idea from you guys. i was thinking once i found that the tubing works to put the rubber strip back on & put the tubing on top of that to make an even better seal, but got real cold in stl this weekend. at one time thought of doing the hole in the side & trying to grab some more air but not as mechanical as you so gave up the idea, but i like what you did a lot. i was thinking of going to wheel well area so would kind of be out of sight, but couldn't find any air coming from there. cover is off ready to run my 89 out of her for 93 lme 4x tune so she'll be ready for convention. i really like ahmad's cai but unless can sell will have to wait. as far as DP's big mac is right. you don't need any gauge to know that the low end torque is much higher. she just jumped off the line in mexico run. my friend with the chally was with me, blew him away enough that he had to tune his/mine r/t to keep up. can't wait to see his '15 r/t scatback sublime green w/ shaker hood come in, but that's another story. tuning the sho for convention & his scatback. friendly rivalry between us for a long time. old tennis buds, now both back to original love cars.

Too bad you don't live close, I'd do the Tstat and plugs for you. My flex pipe pulls air from the lower grill then routes up thru the fender. Its tight behind the drivers head light, but works. I put a crappy old box fan in front of the car and could feel air coming thru. Any extra air is good.
