I aquired a coin tray and cup holder unit that goes under my radio. Right now it only My question is how do I get the old one out. I don't care if i break it because its already half busted anyway.(It's the one with the little swing down door.) I assume by the clips on the coin tray, that it will just pop right in and stay there. Any suggestions?

You need to get a "radio removal tool".

I've been told that a couple pieces of bent coat-hanger would work too, but I KNOW that the tool works.

It's basically two U-shaped pieces of hard wire that go in the holes to the side.

Slide them in, and push the wire outword (away from the center of the unit) and you should then be able to slide the old thing out.

Yes, the new one should just snap in.

The tool is $5-$15 at most stereo shops. Check them out. They might even let you borrow their's real quick.

autozone has those tools for 3 bucks or so. If you know someone with a saab, ask them to borrow their tools, they come with the car.

I use a coat hanger because its free. Bend 2 pieces into a "U". Insert them into the new coin holder so you can see how the clips release, then it's a piece of cake.

I did the coat hanger thing as well. I found that it kinda helps to cut the ends of the "U" diagonally so they can fit between things better. Also keep in mind, there are only small, coat hanger sized holes in the plastic that the housing slides into / out of that the hanger (or tool for the rich folk) can fit into. You don't know THAT until you're done, usually :p

Damn! $5-$15! I used to work at a car stereo shop. We always had dozens of extras lying around, so if someone came in asking for them we would give them away.
